Keeping your body adequately hydrated will improve overall health.
All liquids hydrate the body, though none so efficiently as water. Drink it at a temperature that suits you.
How much to drink? As a guideline, your urine should generally be the colour of pale straw – any darker and you may not to be optimally hydrated. No colour at all? Then drink a little less until you find the right balance for you.
Water should be freely drunk through out the day, interspersed perhaps with your favourite beverage. Drink 20 minutes before or after eating so as not to dilute the digestive function.
Some foods also contain water – rice, pasta and other grains that swell (with water) during cooking, and most fruit and vegetables have a water content.
